We understand that you or your child may feel anxious about visiting our practice for the first time. After your checkup and teeth cleaning are complete, Doctor Bottoms will meet with you to discuss your X-rays, help you create your own individual treatment plan, and answer any questions that you may have.
Regular checkups are an important part of maintaining a healthy smile! The American Dental Association recommends visiting your dentist every six months for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
What to expect
During your first visit, we will:
- Review your dental and medical history forms
- Take X-rays of your teeth and mouth
- Screen for oral cancer by examining your soft tissues
- Clean and polish your teeth, check your teeth and gums for any cavities or early signs of tooth decay or gingivitis
As you prepare for your visit, keep these things in mind:
- Don’t forget your insurance card
- Arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork
- Be aware that your appointment can last between 45-90 minutes
Insurance
Our Office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. We accept and file all insurance policies. After reimbursement from your insurance company, you are responsible for any remaining balance. Our staff is available to answer any questions that may arise and is committed to getting you the best service possible.
